About Us

My name is Claire Humphrys and I’m the Director and Occupational Therapist here at Island OT. I’m here to help nurture your child’s unique journey. With my extensive experience as a Paediatric Occupational Therapist, I’m dedicated to building self-esteem and a sense of identity in children, to allow them to face perceived challenges, learn life skills, participate at kinder or school, make friends, grow resilience and reach their goals!

Since having moved to Phillip Island in early 2024, I have been told time and again that additional Occupational Therapy services will be a welcome addition to the Island! We intend to run Island OT with the community in mind, providing support that matches the calm, natural and family atmosphere that we find wherever we go.

We support children and families in their natural environments, (eg. their homes or schools) as evidence tells us this is the best place to make positive change and achieve goals. We are here to collaborate with families, teachers, principals, diversity leaders, community groups, speech pathologists, psychologists, GPs, support workers- who ever is surrounding and supporting this child in order to have a consistent and nurturing approach!

John Humphrys is an Allied Health Assistant dedicated to supporting children's development. With experience in school, after-school care and disability settings, he is passionate about providing each child with the support they need to thrive. His nurturing approach fosters a positive environment where children feel valued and understood. John is especially skilled at working at the child’s pace.

Additionally, John brings a wealth of technical expertise to Island OT, enhancing the services we provide.
